Bio-Plastic Glasses and Sunglasses

Garrett Leight’s Bio Collection is made with a special new material called M49.

M49 is a bioplastic that is both bio-based and biodegradable. Within 115 days of incubation, the degree of bio-degradation of this bioplastic exceeds 90%, which surpasses the International Organization for Standardization’s definition of biodegradable.

The M49 bioplastic is made up of renewable resources such as cellulose acetate and a plasticizer of vegetable orgin.

Environmentally Friendly

According to GLCO, manufacturing glasses and sunglasses made with new M49 bioplastic produce 60% less carbon dioxide than traditional plastics and consumes 53% less energy than industry standards.
